April is An incredible Month so Far

As a group, the Windy City RWA Chapter is an incredibly supportive organization and we always have a great time but Apirl has just been fabulous.

On April 8th the one-and-only Susan Elizabeth Phillips chatted with our group and as expected the room was crowded.  Not only is Susan a very talented best-selling author, but she's also a member of our group.  We made this session open to members only in the spirit of wanting to provide something special to our membership and what could be more special than Susan Elizabeth Phillips!

We all walked away inspired and motivated.  A little more than a week later, Susan relayed to me at our annual Romance Appreication Dinner that she too walked away from her chat with us inspired and motivated to write.  As you can tell we fuel each other and that's one of the many things that makes this group so special.  Please visit Susan's website at www.susanelizabethphillips.com.

So, the Romance Appreciation Dinner or Rad as we like to call it - what is that?  The RAd is an opportunity for the members of our group to celebrate and honor our librarians and booksellers.  Like everything else in life, a team effort is normally involved to pull anything off.  Writers need to write those incredible books, those fascinating stories; but booksellers and librarians - well, they keep us going, keep us motivated and we honor them every chance we get. 

We also honor our readers.  So, you see we all need each other.  Writing can be such a lonely endeavor so being able to gather and share a passion for the written word is truly a joy.
