Windy City offers a supportive community where people critque with constructive kindness, share information and walk together on the writers' journey. I have learned so much from my Windy City family and I believe it's a great place to write and grow. Writing can be a lonely and isolated process and Windy City provides the moral support and creative energy so vital to a writer. I joined RWA for these reasons: To learn more about writing, to talk about writing to people who actually understand what I am saying, to have support and encouragement, especially when I am feeling discouraged about my writing. RWA has given me all of that and more. Valerie Sokol I think anyone wanting to learn the proper industry standard in all areas, in order to submit their work in a professional manner should join Windy City RWA. There's a least twenty other reasons but I was told to do this in one sentence. (smile) I originally joined because I knew nothing about publishing and wanted to network with other writers/published authors who might enlighten me. I may not make many meetings, but I still feel a part of what is happening and consider each member my friend, which is pretty cool considering I haven't met all that many of them!
